This website publishes a news feed (also commonly known as RSS feed). This gets updated whenever there is a new page added or any significant updates.
For those in the know: Click here to subscribe!
But what is RSS?
RSS or other feeds are a standardised way to subscibe to a blog, news site or other content like podcasts. You typically access the feed using a website or app, which then shows you all the updates across you feeds.
Unlike social media sites you are in complete control of how this information is presented to you. And unlike mailing lists you don't actually subscribe or unsubscribe with someone holding your personal information. You just tell the news reader where to go looking for updates, and it goes out and fetches them.
I personally subscribe to:
- Some news sites
- Some news commentary sites
- Many blogs
- A web comic
- A few substacks
I'm not currently getting my podcasts through a news reader app but this is also a possibility.
You can even subscribe to things like reddit user updates, forum posts and who knows what else?
So if you're sick of having to use social media to keep track of the things that interest you, try out a news reader and go find some RSS/Atom feeds, you might be surprised!
